See those footprints? Follow them

Into the forest, into the pines.

A man left those prints as he went in,

But he never returned. Perhaps

He journeyed through this forest

And back out on the far side, but then 

Also this; he might have perished 

Along the way. It happens. 

Some things a person must do alone.

And now it is your turn, friend.

Take careful steps. Keep moving.

Something rises out of the east, a new day, like an idea being formed, like a child being born. Light in the sky. Life on the earth.

The fields are good to you, offering food and comfort.

And the sky offers you an airy hat to wear, indeed,

The sky offers a hat to the whole earth! Nice, yes? 

Of course, you have your wounds to bind,

And you have your various illnesses. We all do. 

Why cry about it? That blood has already been spilled. 

A murder of crows drops from the sky 

To eat what is left on the fields. See?

Let us be mindful of that which grows and blooms, 

Bringing life and beauty to the earth.
